Uzbekistan Airways to cut flights to Russia amid fuel shortage

Uzbekistan Airways will reduce the number of flights from Uzbek cities to Russia due to a shortage and rising cost of aviation fuel.
The company said, in a statement, that the changes will affect some Russian routes, including select frequencies to Moscow and St. Petersburg, Caliber.Az reports, citing the airline.
“In view of the shortage of aviation fuel and its rising cost, we are forced to reduce the frequency of flights on certain routes from cities in the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation,” the statement read.
Passengers affected by cancelled flights will be offered free rebooking on the nearest available flights without additional charges, as well as full refunds without penalties.
