Victory Day parade in Russia’s Voronezh cancelled over security concerns

The military parade marking Victory Day on the main square in Voronezh will not take place due to security concerns, Alexander Gusev, the regional governor, has stated.

Sharing a post on Max, he said there is always a large crowd at the parade, and this increases the enemy’s temptation to stage provocations, Caliber.Az reports.

He added that ceremonial events, wreath-laying ceremonies, and patriotic activities will still be held in municipalities.

Gusev also said that city authorities will definitely honour the memory of war participants and pay due respect to veterans.

The Victory Day parade scheduled for May 9 has also been cancelled this year in Veliky Novgorod.
