Western Azerbaijan Community urges Dutch parliament to halt baseless attacks on Azerbaijan
The Western Azerbaijan Community has condemned the documents adopted by the Dutch Parliament on October 10 and the remarks made by the country's Foreign Minister during their discussion, calling them entirely unacceptable.
"As COP29 draws near, the coordinated attacks against Azerbaijan are intensifying," the Community stated in its commentary, Caliber.Az reports.
"First, the documents are filled with baseless slander against official Baku. Those detained in Azerbaijan are not prisoners of war but individuals charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity. Labelling them as prisoners of war is a blatant disregard for justice.
Secondly, claims that Armenian cultural heritage is under threat in Azerbaijan are entirely fictitious. The recent restoration of the Ghazanchi Church in Shusha proves that no Armenian monuments are at risk. Azerbaijan ensures the preservation of all cultural heritage, regardless of religious or ethnic background.
These and other anti-Azerbaijani resolutions passed by the Dutch Parliament highlight a clear bias and discriminatory stance against Azerbaijanis," the statement reads.
The Community further emphasized that the Netherlands, which has failed to fulfil its decolonization obligations, has no moral authority to lecture on international law and human rights.
"We call on the Dutch government and parliament to cease their baseless accusations and attacks on Azerbaijan and end the racial discrimination against Azerbaijanis. We also demand that they respect the right of Azerbaijanis expelled from Armenia to return to their homes," the commentary concluded.
