WHO intends to create training, simulation centre in Azerbaijan
The Management Union of Medical Territorial Units of Azerbaijan (TABIB) and the World Health Organization (WHO) have reached a preliminary agreement on the establishment of a joint training and simulation centre in Azerbaijan.
The issue was discussed at a meeting between TABIB Executive Director Vugar Gurbanov and WHO Representative in Azerbaijan, head of the office in the country Hande Harmanci on October 12, Report informs.
The meeting was also attended by WHO expert Ibrahim Durak, Director of the Baku City Main Health Centre Elchin Amirov, and Head of the TABIB activity organization department Teymur Mirzabayli.
According to Gurbanov, over the past period, close cooperation relations have been established between TABIB and the WHO Baku Office, a series of important joint projects have been implemented.
Gurbanov noted the necessity of involving health workers, especially nurses, in intensive training for the development of primary health care services.
For her part, Harmanci initiated the creation of a training and simulation centre with the support of TABIB to attract health workers to a rapid exchange of experience.
The prospects for cooperation in the future were also discussed.
