A tragic shooting in Pembroke Park, Florida, on March 26 night left four people dead, including a woman and three children, while two others were hospitalized with gunshot wounds, authorities confirmed.
According to the Broward County Regional Communications Center, a call reporting the shooting came in shortly after 7:30 p.m., Caliber.Az reports via American media.
The incident took place in the 3100 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard.
When officers from the Pembroke Park Police Department arrived at the scene, they discovered a horrific scene — a woman, an infant, and two toddlers had been fatally shot. Nearby, a man and a 10-year-old girl were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Evan Ross, a spokesperson for the Pembroke Park Police, stated that the shooting was a domestic incident. Authorities have reassured the public that there is no ongoing threat.
Paramedics rushed the injured man to HCA Florida Aventura Hospital and the girl to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. Officials have not disclosed their current conditions.
The man is believed to have shot and killed the four victims before turning the gun on himself.
Neighbor Angel Aquino, who lives near the scene, recalled hearing the gunfire before witnessing police officers arrive.
"I just heard eight shots coming from the fourth floor, so I came outside," Aquino said. "One of my neighbors told me a man tried to kill all his family and then tried to kill himself."
The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation as authorities work to piece together the full details of the tragic event.
