World's largest autocatalysts producer sells plant in Russia
The British company Johnson Matthey, the world's largest producer of automotive catalysts, has sold its plant in Krasnoyarsk to Russian management.
Since the end of June, the Russian plant Johnson Matthey Krasnoyarsk has been owned by Catalysts and Technologies LLC, which was renamed Ecotechsis LLC in July, Kommersant reports.
The firm was established in November 2022, and its shares are equally divided between Johnson Matthey Krasnoyarsk General Director Leonid Rakitin, Johnson Matthey in Russia Commercial Director Andrey Kossov, and Financial Controller Vadim Nevenchenko.
According to the publication, production at the Krasnoyarsk plant is planned to be resumed. According to experts, Russia has a base of raw materials for production, but the production of cars in the country has been severely reduced, and questions also remain about intellectual rights to technology.
