Zelenskyy confirms Ukraine's invitation to Trump's Gaza “Board of Peace”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that the Ukrainian side has received an invitation to participate in the so-called “Board of Peace" for Gaza, initiated by US President Donald Trump.
During an online briefing with journalists, Zelenskyy noted that Ukrainian diplomats are currently working out the details of the country’s participation in this format, Caliber.Az reports via Ukrainian media.
Commenting on the presence of Russia and Belarus in the Board of Peace, the Ukrainian president said: “For me, it is very hard to imagine how we could be together with Russia in any board."
"This is not specifically about this Board of Peace," Zelenskyy continued, having likened Russia and Belarus to a "Board of War."
The body, chaired by Trump and including key figures such as Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, was announced by the White House recently. It stems from a US-brokered 20-point ceasefire and peace framework between Israel and Hamas, with invitations extended to around 60 countries—including Russia, Belarus, and various US allies—to form an international oversight mechanism.
Trump has pushed for a formal signing or ratification ceremony, potentially on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos this week.
