Zelenskyy’s chief of staff arrives in Washington for high-level talks
Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, has arrived in Washington as part of an official Ukrainian delegation, according to a statement released via his Telegram channel.
The delegation is led by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko and includes officials from the Ministry of Defence and the President’s Office, Caliber.Az reports.
“We will be actively advocating for issues of vital importance to Ukraine,” Yermak said. “Our agenda is fairly comprehensive.”
Key topics on the delegation’s schedule include continued defence support, the situation on the battlefield, and efforts to tighten sanctions against Russia, notably a draft bill proposed by Senator Lindsey Graham. Yermak also highlighted the U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund as a central point of discussion.
The delegation is also expected to raise the issue of Ukrainian children who have been forcibly deported by Russia. “We will also raise the matter of the return of Ukrainian children deported by Russia and support for this process,” Yermak noted.
In addition, the Ukrainian side intends to counter Russian disinformation efforts, particularly those targeting religious communities.
Yermak said the group would meet with members of both major U.S. political parties, including representatives from President Donald Trump’s team. “There will be numerous meetings with representatives of both political parties who support Ukraine,” he added.
Ukraine also plans to share insights from recent talks in Istanbul and to underscore its position that Russia is deliberately stalling ceasefire negotiations.
“We will share the outcomes of the meetings held in Istanbul and highlight how Russia is stalling ceasefire efforts and negotiations in order to prolong the war,” Yermak said.
