Zelenskyy: "Ukraine to not relinquish its land to occupier"
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reaffirmed his country’s unwavering defence of its territorial integrity, stating that Ukrainians will not relinquish any land to the occupier.
In a message posted on Telegram, Zelenskyy condemned Russia’s ongoing aggression, highlighting that even those with ties to Russia recognise the harm it has caused, Caliber.Az reports.
“The Ukrainians defend what is theirs. Russia started this war and continues to drag it out, ignoring all deadlines, and that is the problem,” Zelenskyy said. He stressed that the resolution to Ukraine’s territorial issues is already enshrined in the country’s Constitution, and no one will or can retreat from that position.
Zelenskyy also called for a “dignified peace” and emphasised Ukraine’s readiness to work with international partners, including US President Donald Trump, to achieve a lasting and respected peace—one that will not be undermined by Moscow’s interests.
“Any decisions made without Ukraine or against Ukraine will bring no peace; they are dead decisions that will never work,” he warned.
Closing his message, Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Ukrainian people and armed forces for their resilience and dedication to independence, urging citizens to stand firm.
“This is our land, we are Ukraine. Glory to Ukraine!” he concluded.
The remarks follow the US president’s earlier announcement of a planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.
