Zelenskyy warns of Russian plot targeting top officials
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is preparing assassination attempts targeting the country’s top leadership, citing intelligence indicating increased activity by Russian special services.
Speaking in his evening video address, Zelenskyy said Russian intelligence services are actively monitoring the movements of Ukraine’s leadership, tracking “where we are and where we appear.” He noted that the threats extend beyond himself to include “other people from the Ukrainian leadership, from intelligence, our special services.”
According to Zelenskyy, Ukrainian authorities possess Russian documents outlining potential strike targets in Kyiv and other cities, including political and military sites where senior officials may be present.
“We also have Russian documents in which targets are proposed for strikes on Kyiv and other cities — political and military facilities where the leadership of the army and government may be located, including here on Bankova. They have long been planning this. Now, after Iran, they have become active again — they are looking for where we are, where we go. Some in Moscow still have not understood that Ukrainians will never give up their independence, and in any case — with or without Bankova — we will not surrender our land, our sovereignty, our state,” the president said.
