Venezuelan delegation arrives in Mexico for talks with opposition
A delegation of the Venezuelan authorities, headed by Parliament Speaker Jorge Rodriguez, has arrived in Mexico to resume negotiations with the opposition.
Negotiations will be conducted through Norway’s mediation. The exact time and venue of the meeting were not disclosed, La Jornada newspaper reports.
Rodriguez noted that he is glad to be "on the land of brothers and sisters" to sign a social agreement with some opposition parties.
Earlier, the politician said that the agreement envisages the resumption of control by the authorities of the Bolivarian Republic over foreign assets blocked in the international financial institutions.
These resources are expected to be used to strengthen the health system, restore infrastructure and deal with the consequences of floods in the country.
