President’s special rep: Azerbaijan may implement projects in five spheres in East Zangazur, Karabakh
KARABAKH 26 November 2022 - 16:43
Special Representative of the Azerbaijani President in the Zangilan district Vahid Hajiyev has said that the projects in five spheres, namely, mining, agriculture, logistics, tourism, and green energy, may be implemented in East Zangazur and Karabakh.
Hajiyev made these remarks at a meeting among representatives of the public and leading companies of the donor countries of the Karabakh Revival Foundation in the Zangilan district, Report informs.
He noted that Zangilan will make a huge contribution to the Azerbaijani economy.
“The views on the role of business in the reconstruction and construction of Karabakh, the development of cooperation among business, society and state agencies in this sphere were exchanged at the meeting dedicated to "Sustainable Development and Reintegration of the Liberated Territories",” Hajiyev said.
The special representative noted that large-scale restoration and construction work is being carried out in the liberated territories, and large infrastructure projects are being implemented.
“One of these projects is the Zangilan International Airport, the grand opening ceremony of which has been recently held in the presence of the Azerbaijani and Turkish presidents on the day of the liberation of Zangilan from occupation. This is a very big event not only for Zangilan but for the entire region,” Hajiyev said.
“As is known, 326 people have already been settled in Aghali village within the Great Return project. The issues of their employment are being resolved. Currently, work is underway to accommodate small entrepreneurs in Aghali,” the special representative said.
“Moreover, four hydroelectric power stations are being built in the Zangilan district. The construction of the Horadiz-Aghband railway is expected to be completed by the end of next year,” he added.
Chairman of the Board of the Karabakh Revival Foundation Rahman Hajiyev informed the participants of the meeting about the main activities of the foundation, the conducted work, and the further projects.
