Azerbaijan, Indonesia hold political consultations

On December 6, the III bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia (Foreign Policy Strategy Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia) – "III Dialogue of Political Planning" took place in Jakarta.

The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Elnur Mammadov, and the opposite side by the head of the Foreign Policy Strategy Agency, Director General Yayan Mulyana, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.

During political consultations, the sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, including political, economic, trade, cultural, educational, and consular issues. They also touched on the prospects of cooperation within the UN, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and ASEAN/AIPA.

During discussions, Mammadov noted that 2022 marked the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and stressed that during these years Azerbaijan and Indonesia have formed a cooperation agenda in various fields on a bilateral and multilateral basis, and there is wide potential for further development of relations. He thanked Indonesia for its constant support to our country, including during the 44-day war.

Mammadov briefed the Indonesian delegation on developments in the region in the post-conflict period, and the rehabilitation and reconstruction work carried out by Azerbaijan in the territories liberated from occupation. Informing the opposite side about the normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan's activities to promote the peace agenda, and the establishment of communication, he also noted that Armenia's provocations are a threat to peace and tranquility in the region.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on other regional and international security issues of mutual interest.
