Minister: Azerbaijan set to become country of "green growth" by 2030
Azerbaijan's state policy is to become a country of "green growth" with a clean environment by 2030.
Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov made the remarks at the "Green Hydrogen Summit" as part of Sustainable Development Week, Report informs.
In his speech, the minister noted that "green hydrogen", which plays an important role in the global transition to a zero-emission economy, is evaluated as an alternative energy tool from the point of view of ensuring energy and environmental security.
The energy minister noted that "Azerbaijan is a country that diversifies Europe's energy supply with alternative sources. Our country is a potential source of renewable energy, hydrogen after oil, and natural gas for Europe and is one of its partners who will contribute to its plans related to hydrogen".
"Hydrogen, the production and export of 'green energy' in general, is an important component of our renewed strategic energy partnership with the European Union," he said.
The summit voiced expectations for the development of "green hydrogen" on a global scale, the changing dynamics of production costs against the background of the energy crisis and the factors necessary for the competitiveness of hydrogen production.
