FM Bayramov urges swift punishment of perpetrators and masterminds of terrorist attack on Azerbaijan's embassy
"We strongly condemn the treacherous terrorist attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran," Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov wrote on Twitter.
"We express our condolences to the family and loved ones of our deceased officer. The perpetrators of the attack and those who ordered it should be punished as soon as possible," the minister wrote, according to Report.
Milli Majlis Speaker Sahiba Gafarova has shared a publication over the attack on the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran.
According to Caliber.Az, the parliament speaker demanded a prompt and impartial investigation into the treacherous attack.
"We strongly condemn the terrorist attack committed against the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Islamic Republic of Iran on the morning of January 27. We demand prompt and impartial investigation of this traitorous attack and punishment of perpetrators.
May Allah give peace to the soul of our embassy employee, who died while preventing the attack, we express our deep condolences to his family and friends!" Sahiba Gafarova stressed.
An armed attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in the Islamic Republic of Iran was committed on January 27 at about 8:30 (GMT+4).
The attacker broke through to the security post and killed the head of the security service by using a Kalashnikov assault rifle.
Two embassy security guards were injured while repulsing the attack.
Their condition is satisfactory.
The attacker was detained by employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy.
