During his official visit to Baghdad, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov was received by Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid for high-level talks aimed at strengthening bilateral ties across a range of sectors.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry’s post on social platform X, the meeting highlighted mutual satisfaction with the current level of friendship and cooperation between Iraq and Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

"Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov of the Republic of Azerbaijan met H.E. President Abdullatif Jamal Rashid in Baghdad during his official visit to the Republic of Iraq," the Foreign Ministry stated.

During the talks, both sides exchanged views on further developing bilateral relations, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, energy, tourism, and other fields of mutual interest. The ministry noted that they also emphasised the importance of expanding collaboration within multilateral organisations, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA).

Minister Bayramov provided President Rashid with a detailed update on post-conflict reconstruction efforts in the region, as well as the ongoing peace agenda.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to deepening the partnership between Iraq and Azerbaijan, grounded in mutual respect and shared values.
