Baku hosts top Hungarian general for strategic military infrastructure tour PHOTO/VIDEO
In a demonstration of deepening military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Hungary, a high-level Hungarian defence delegation led by the Chief of the General Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, General Gábor Böröndi, undertook a strategic visit to key military installations across Azerbaijan.
The delegation, accompanied by First Deputy Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijani Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, viewed military sites including the central command post of the Air Force, the Cybersecurity Centre, and a commando military unit, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the visit to the central command post of the Air Force, Deputy Defence Minister and Air Force Commander Colonel General Ramiz Islamzade briefed the guests on the structure and operations of the state-of-the-art command centre, which meets modern technological standards. The Hungarian delegation received a detailed presentation on airspace control, coordination of flight operations, and staff command processes.
The delegation then visited the Cybersecurity Centre, where they were given an in-depth overview of the measures in place to secure IT infrastructure and advanced weapons systems. The visitors were also informed about AI-based cyber defence tools deployed to counter contemporary cyber threats.
Subsequently, the Chiefs of General Staff of Azerbaijan and Hungary visited one of the Azerbaijani commando military units, where they reviewed the living and training conditions. After observing commando operations at the mountain tower and reconnaissance trail, the guests were shown an exhibition of weapons, ammunition, gear, and combat equipment currently in service with the Azerbaijani Army.
