Azerbaijani wrestlers to fight for European gold, bronze

The European Youth Championship (U-23) in wrestling started on March 13 in Bucharest, Romania.

As Azerisport.Com reports, Greco-Roman wrestlers took the stage on the first day of the tournament.

Azerbaijan was represented by Rahim Hasanov (55 kg), Ziya Babashov (63 kg), Khasay Hasanli (77 kg), Magomed Akhmediev (87 kg), and Sarkhan Mammadov (130 kg).

Only Hasanli managed to reach the final after perfect performances in the previous standoffs, while Mammadov got a chance to fight in the consolation round for bronze.

Hasanli and Mammadov will meet their rivals in their ultimate fights on March 14.
