Azerbaijani deputy foreign minister briefs OIC delegates on Armenia's provocations

Within the framework of his participation in the 49th session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Council of Ministers in Mauritania, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev met with member countries of the Organisation and briefed them on Armenia's provocations.

Report informs citing the ministry, that during his visit, Rzayev met with Foreign Minister Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug of Mauritania, Foreign Minister Olivia Rouamba of Burkina Faso, Director General of the Islamic Organisation for Food Safety Yerlan Baidaulet, Deputy Foreign Secretary for Diplomatic Affairs of Oman Sheikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Isa Al Harti, as well as Foreign Minister and International Cooperation Minister of Somalia Abshir Omar Houruse.

During their meetings, the sides discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation and issues of cooperation within the framework of international organisations, including the Non-Aligned Movement. The importance of increasing the intensity of high-level official contacts and bilateral political consultations was stressed.

The sides were informed on the initiatives taken by Azerbaijan within the framework of its chairmanship of NAM on the problem of post-pandemic global reconstruction.

The deputy minister praised the continuous support provided to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan within the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) during our country's membership.

During the meetings, detailed information was provided on Armenia's aggression against Azerbaijan for nearly 30 years, the current status of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the post-conflict period, as well as the provocations, and mine threats by Armenia in the region.

The interlocutors were informed about the restoration and construction works carried out by the Azerbaijani government in the territories liberated from occupation, as well as transport and communication projects implemented in the region on the initiative and with the participation of Azerbaijan, and opportunities for cooperation in these areas were highlighted.
