Azerbaijan’s defence minister condoles with Pakistan over deadly terrorist attack
Azerbaijan’s Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, has sent condolences to Field Marshal Asim Munir, Commander of the Pakistan Army’s Ground Forces, following a deadly terrorist attack in North Waziristan.
As Caliber.Az reports, in a message released by the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry, Hasanov expressed deep sorrow over the loss of 13 servicemen and the injuries sustained by many others, including civilians, during the attack on June 28.
"I am saddened by the news of the deaths and injuries caused by the horrific terrorist attack in North Waziristan, Pakistan, on June 28, which resulted in the deaths of 13 servicemen, including a large number of civilians. We strongly condemn all forms of terrorism. I pray to Almighty Allah for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives as a result of the explosion and express my deepest condolences to their families. I wish healing to all the wounded,” the message reads.
The attack involved a suicide bomber driving an explosive-laden vehicle into a Pakistani military convoy near the Afghan border in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district. According to the Pakistan Army, the explosion killed at least 13 soldiers and caused multiple injuries.
