Azerbaijani defence minister congratulates servicemen on Novruz holiday

Azerbaijani Defence Minister, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov congratulated the Azerbaijani servicemen on the Novruz holiday.

In his message the minister conveyed sincere congratulations to the personnel, and wished them robust health and success in their difficult but honourable service, the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry told Caliber.Az.

“The Novruz holiday, which is celebrated at the state level as a result of the far-sighted and wise policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev, demonstrates the beginning of spring, the revival of nature. From ancient times to the modern period, the Azerbaijani people have preserved the Novruz traditions.

Even in the most difficult periods in history, our people celebrated Novruz with special enthusiasm and joy, which shows the high importance that our people attach to their national and spiritual values.

As a result of Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev’s successful policy, civil solidarity has been created in the independent Republic of Azerbaijan, and our country holds a worthy place among the countries.

The rapid development of the economy has been ensured, and the traditions of statehood are being strengthened. Steps that are taken to increase military power are the main component of the reforms which are carried out in the country.

Azerbaijan's authority in the world is growing, and the unity among people, the state, and the army has reached the highest level thanks to the important work being carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the army building and statehood building.

As a result of the logical continuation of this confident activity during the successful counter-offensive operations launched on September 27, 2020 under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief and which turned into the 44-day second Karabakh war, our lands, which had been under the enemy’s occupation for about 30 years, were liberated thanks to the heroism and dedication of Azerbaijani soldiers and officers.

I express my gratitude to each of you for your devotion to the military oath, and for your selflessness in a difficult but honourable military service. As always, on the eve of the Novruz holiday, we revere the memory of our martyrs who died while protecting the sovereignty, and independence of Azerbaijan, and restoring the country's territorial integrity,” the congratulatory message says.
