Western Azerbaijan Community awaits EU Council, PACE response to its plea

Western Azerbaijan Community Spokesperson Ulviyya Zulfugar has said the Community sent an appeal to EU Council President Charles Michel, as well as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), urging them to ensure the right of return of Western Azerbaijanis and to monitor this issue.

"The return of the Western Azerbaijanis [to present-day Armenia] is a human rights issue and each of the international organisations mentioned has obligations in this regard. The EU Council and PACE should respond to our appeal, as it is about ensuring the rights of hundreds of thousands of western Azerbaijanis. All Azerbaijanis expelled from present-day Armenia must return to their lands. Deportation is a crime against humanity," Report quotes Zulfugar as saying.
