FM: Embassy's opening to further deepen existing strategic relations between Azerbaijan, Israel

On March 29, 2023, the opening ceremony of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the State of Israel was held with the participation of Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and his İsraeli counterpart Eli Cohen.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister Bayramov noted said the opening of the embassy will further deepen the existing strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, and also highlighted the important role of the Azerbaijani community in Israel in the relations between the two countries, the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan said in a statement on March 30.

Talking about the importance Azerbaijan attaches to relations with Israel, the minister said that these relations are based on the coexistence of peoples in peace and tranquillity. The importance of the existing high-level political dialogue between the countries, as well as the work of the joint Intergovernmental Commission, was underlined as a key factor in bilateral relations.

Israeli Minister Cohen, for his part, highlighted the development perspectives of cooperation between the two countries in security, economy, energy, tourism, education, and other fields. He touted the opening of the embassy as a very important historical event in mutual relations.

Later, with the participation of the ministers, the opening ceremony of the plaque with the name of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Israel was held.
