Barcelona fined €15.7 million for tax violations
Spain's tax agency has fined Barcelona football club €15,700,000 for financial irregularities committed by the club.
The case against Barcelona was opened back in 2019. The club is accused of tax irregularities in the transfer of Audi cars to team players, unaccounted-for charter flight payments and inappropriate accounting for compensation received following the departure of Ard Turan and Alex Song from the team, Marca newspaper reports.
Recall that Barcelona FC is also currently under investigation over payments made to the former vice-president of the technical committee of referees of the Spanish Football Federation, José María Enriquez Negreira.
The Ciudad-Condal prosecutor's office investigated and found that the Catalan had paid a total of around €1,400,000 to a company owned by Negreira.
The transfer amounted to €532,000 in 2016, €541,000 in 2017 and €318,000 in 2018.
