Qarabağ FK becomes Azerbaijan’s champion

Azerbaijani football club Qarabağ FK has become the champion of Azerbaijan.

The club sealed the championship on May 13, two rounds before the finish of the Azerbaijan Premier League football season 2022/23, according to APA Sport.

Qarabağ FK defeated Sabail 3-0 away. The difference in points with Sabah increased to 10, and the “stallions” were crowned champions two rounds before the end of the tournament.

This championship is the 10th in their history. Thus, Qarabağ has set a new record, surpassing Neftchi with nine wins.

Qarabağ FK celebrated its 9th win in the last 10 years. All the successes during this period were achieved under head coach Gurban Gurbanov.

Thus, Qarabağ has won a trip to the Champions League. The Aghdam-based club will represent Azerbaijan in the continent's most prestigious club tournament.
