FM: Azerbaijan interested in renewable energy cooperation with Slovakia PHOTO

Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Azerbaijan is interested in renewable energy cooperation with Slovakia.

Bayramov made the remarks at a meeting with the chairman of this Slovakia's National Assembly Boris Kollar during his working visit to this country, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

At the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the current level of relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia and stressed the importance of consolidated efforts to further develop cooperation, raising it the level of strategic partnership.

It was noted that plans to open an Azerbaijani Embassy in Slovakia are of great importance from the point of view of deepening bilateral ties.

At the meeting, the development of inter-parliamentary relations, mutual visits and meetings at the level of delegations and cooperation within the international parliamentary organizations were highlighted.

The necessity to continue the cooperation between the two countries in a multilateral format was stressed.

Bayramov informed Boris Kollar about the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan's promotion of the peace agenda, and Armenian military-political provocations damaging the peace process.

He spoke about the intensive steps taken by Azerbaijan for the demining and restoration of liberated territories and for the reintegration of the population. Bayramov highly appreciated the intention of Slovak companies and investors to participate in investment and construction projects in the Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions.

Touching upon relations in the energy sphere, Bayramov underlined the great potential for the expansion of cooperation in this sphere. It was noted that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with Slovakia in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

Boris Kollar expressed readiness to fully support the further development of Azerbaijani-Slovak relations. He recalled with satisfaction his visit to Azerbaijan and noted that he had witnessed great potential for expanding cooperation.

Bayramov also met with Slovakia's Foreign and European Affairs Minister Miroslav Wlachovský as part of his visit to this country.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries in the political, economic, energy, tourism, education, agricultural, legal, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

It was noted that this year marks the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Slovakia, in connection with which a number of cultural events will be held.

Bayramov informed his counterpart about the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Azerbaijan's advancement of the peace agenda and Armenia's military-political provocations damaging the peace process.

He spoke about the intensive steps taken by Azerbaijan to restore the liberated territories. Bayramov stated the importance of expanding cooperation with Slovakia in the field of demining.

Miroslav Wlachovský said that Slovakia attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan and noted favourable opportunities for the development of cooperation.

He stated that Slovakia supports the efforts of the European Union to normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and ensure lasting peace in the region.

Both ministers expressed their determination to develop Azerbaijani-Slovak relations both bilaterally and multilaterally.
