Azerbaijan’s diaspora committee urges compatriots to be wary of Armenian provocations
The State Committee for Work with Diaspora has appealed to the Azerbaijani diaspora abroad.
The Committee reminded that in 2020 the victorious Azerbaijani army led by Azerbaijani President, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev liberated their lands, which had been under occupation for 30 years, Report informs.
It stressed that when the army hoisted the tricolour flag of Azerbaijan on these lands, the feeling of pride overwhelmed every Azerbaijani, regardless of the country of residence.
"At that time, every compatriot, from small to great, supported on various platforms the right struggle of Azerbaijan for the restoration of territorial integrity," the statement reads.
The Committee reminded that Armenia could not accept the bitter defeat after the war, and to achieve its insidious goals, continued various provocations in the region, including laying mines on Azerbaijani territories to harm the civilian population.
“On September 19, Azerbaijan began to carry out local anti-terrorism measures in order to ensure the provisions of the tripartite declaration, suppress large-scale provocations in the Karabakh economic region, disarm and withdraw Armenian armed forces from Azerbaijani territories, neutralize their military infrastructure, ensure the safety of civilians returning to the liberated territories, as well as civilians involved in reconstruction work, and military personnel, as well as the restoration of the constitutional order of the Republic of Azerbaijan,” the state committee recalled.
The committee did not rule out that anti-terrorism measures will lead to the government of Armenia and the separatist regime financed by it carrying out new provocations, including terrorist attacks, against the compatriots on the territory of Azerbaijan, and the Armenian diaspora in foreign countries.
“For example, the terrorist organization ASALA, which has been committing bloody terrorist attacks in different parts of the world for many years, can carry out provocations at the direction of the enemy at any time and in any place. Considering that in recent days the Armenian diaspora has begun to behave even more aggressively, we urge our compatriots abroad not to succumb to provocations and to exercise caution,” the appeal says.
The state committee also called on, if necessary, to contact the law enforcement agencies of the country of residence and the committee’s representative offices abroad.
