Russia does not directly attack Romania, president says
Romanian President Klaus Iohannis has said that the downing of Russian UAVs on his country's territory is a real problem, but they cannot be perceived as a premeditated act of aggression.
According to Iohannis, Russian UAVs have fallen on Romanian territory three times.
"So far, no one has been injured, but the fact that the fragment fell on Romanian land is a real problem," he said, Anadolu reports.
The Romanian president also added that he had discussed the situation with the fall of Russian UAVs with representatives of allied countries. As a result of these discussions, according to Iohannis, Romania has significantly strengthened its air defense.
"Although Russia's attacks are not directed against Romania, the situation is unacceptable," he stressed.
The last report about the wreckage of a Russian UAV in Romania was received on September 9.
