Papuashvili: President can travel wherever she wants, but she does not represent Georgia
Salome Zourabichvili called the decision of the National Bank a "Russian decision". What after these words should she say to her Estonian, Latvian, or Lithuanian colleague? What candidate status can she talk to them about?
Chairman of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili made the statement in connection with the president's visits to European countries, Caliber.Az reports with reference to Georgian media.
According to him, Salome Zourabichvili "can move freely, go to any country she wants, but she does not represent Georgia, as she does not have the appropriate mandate of such representation."
"Of course, it is disturbing when a president blatantly, publicly violates the Constitution, and this is happening repeatedly. The president, who is supposed to be an example of respecting the Constitution and abiding by the law, demonstratively violates the rules established by the Georgian people. By doing so, of course, she puts herself outside the Constitution. It is our sad reality.
According to him, the ruling team is waiting for the decision of the Constitutional Court regarding the impeachment of the president.
"I wonder what the president's position will be if the Constitutional Court decides that the president has violated the constitution. I wonder if she will consider it a 'Russian decision'," Papuashvili said.
