200-metre cargo ship blocks Bosphorus Strait

The Turkish Coast Guard reported that the 190-metre bulk carrier Sophia Z blocked the Bosphorus Strait for several hours.

According to the coast guard, the ship was travelling from Bulgaria to Spain and was flying the flag of the Bahamas, Gazeta.ru reports.

The rudder of the cargo ship failed near Umurieri, causing traffic in the strait to be blocked from 22:00. to 02:00. Sophia Z was then towed to the Akhirkapi pier in the south of the strait near the Sea of Marmara.
