Pundit: Armenia’s dependence on Russia intensified under PM Pashinyan
Armenian political scientist Suren Surenyants has said that Armenia’s economic dependence on Russia has only increased under Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“The post of the Chief of Staff of Prime Minister Arayik Harutyunyan, dedicated to the problems at the Lars checkpoint, clearly demonstrates the limited thinking of this government,” Surenyants said on his Facebook page, commenting on the post of the head of the office of Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Caliber.Az reports.
“The emphasis on the national emotional context when promoting goods, designed to underscore ‘the importance for Armenians in Armenia and the diaspora of purchasing exclusively Armenian agricultural and beverage products’ indicates a clear lack of state thinking.
First of all, the government’s task is to immediately resolve the problems that arose at the Lars checkpoint. Instead of creating such “national” texts, the Armenian government should consistently improve the quality and standards of Armenian products to expand exports, not limiting itself solely to the Russian market.
By the way, during the years of Pashinyan’s rule, Armenia’s economic dependence on Russia has only increased,” the political scientist notes.
