Armenian PM entitled to appointing and dismissing head of National Security Service

From now on, the director of the National Security Service and deputy directors of the National Security Service of Armenia will be appointed and dismissed not by the President, but by the Prime Minister.

Caliber.Az reports with reference to Armenian media that the decision was adopted at today's session of the Armenian government.

After the adoption of the planned changes, the NSS director and his deputies will hold state positions, while the rest of the officers of the National Security Service will hold military positions.

The draft was recognised as urgent and will be sent to the National Assembly.
