Azerbaijan to launch admission to Karabakh University from 2024

    KARABAKH  30 November 2023 - 18:09

Azerbaijani Science and Education Minister Emin Amrullayev has said Karabakh University is considered to be an institution of higher education, which started its activity in 1969.

"We plan to educate 800-1,000 students in Khankendi. Permanent accommodation of the main teaching and management staff is envisaged. At the initial stage, their number will be 30-40 people. Travel of the teaching staff on the basis of intensive modules and organisation of online training are envisaged. From next year onwards, admission to the first year will be made. It is also planned to create SABAH groups from the second year," Amrullayev said at a media briefing on November 30, APA reports.

The minister said there will also be admission of students within the framework of double degree programmes with local universities.

"Part of the studies may take place in Baku or other regions, the rest in Khankendi. At the initial stage it is planned to establish 4 faculties," Amrullayev said.

Meanwhile, the State Service for Special Communication and Information Security of Azerbaijan has put into operation a TETRA radio communication network in the territory of the Karabakh and East Zangezur economic districts, including the city of Khankendi, Aghdara and Khojaly districts.

Some 15 state structures operating in the mentioned territories have also been provided with secure data transmission channels and internet via state-run communication provider AzStateNet.
