Analyst: Armenia offers guarantees to Zelenskyy, but remains silent on Putin's safety

As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to Armenia remains uncertain, questions arise over the country's security.

The remarks came from Ara Manucharyan, an expert on international political consultations, in an interview with Armenian media, Caliber.Az reports.

“The anti-Russian thesis that has become dominant in Armenia is not only destructive but also poses a great danger for the country, because, whether we like it or not, Russia plays an important role in today's reality.

Among today's crises, the biggest crisis is the crisis of mistrust, and this is a big problem, nobody trusts or believes anybody. Now the Armenian authorities blame Russia, tomorrow they may blame France. What will happen next, who will they blame? You know, success is achieved by a political force that is constantly moving in one direction, and the zigzagging steps of the Armenian authorities do not build trust and respect both inside and outside.

As for Zelenskyy's visit, I am not sure that Zelenskyy will come to Armenia. If that happens, Armenia will face even more danger. The Armenian authorities do not guarantee Putin's safety, but they do guarantee Zelenskyy's safety; the authorities do not even specify whether or not it is ready to give guarantees to Vladimir Putin in connection with the ratification of the Rome Statute. The Kremlin spokesman demanded clarifications from the Armenian authorities several times," the expert said.
