Azerbaijan: Armenia stalls implementation of Zangazur corridor accord
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov has said that Armenia delays the fulfilment of the agreement on the Zangazur corridor.
He made the remarks in an interview with the Turkish media, Report informs citing TRT Haber.
"We are witnessing how Armenia is slowing the implementation of the Zangazur corridor agreement," he said.
The minister noted that undermining the Armenian-Azerbaijani normalisation process under various pretexts is not the right approach.
"This is not in anyone's interests, especially Armenia's. We hope that Armenia will finally understand this. These issues are discussed periodically. There are moments that are not disclosed. However, Azerbaijan's position lies in the full implementation of the agreements reached through the mediation of Russia and the European Union. After the end of the occupation, we proposed to start preparing a peace treaty. Having publicly stated this, we have stated our position. Azerbaijan's appeal remained unanswered for a year. At the beginning of 2022, Azerbaijan outlined the basic principles related to the future peace treaty and sent them to Armenia. All the points specified in this document comply with international law and the territorial integrity of states," Bayramov added.
