Albanian-Udi religious community: True owner of lands in Azerbaijan returns
Chairman of the Albanian-Udi Christian Religious Community of Azerbaijan Robert Mobili has said that the main purpose of visiting religious sites in liberated Azerbaijani territories is that the Houses of God, which are also our cultural heritage, should not be desolate.
The Armenians expropriated these places over a period of almost 200 years, Mobili told Report.
“I think this partly occurred because we missed the moment when they began to claim their rights to these lands, did not attach importance to this, and also because of our humane attitude towards them,” he noted.
The chairman added that the Armenians impertinently expropriated the historical monuments belonging to Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijani people.
“They even tried to remake our historical monuments to pass them off as their own. They partially succeeded. No matter how hard they tried, they could not completely falsify history.
“These churches and temples are our heritage. They have nothing to do with the Armenians. Once we shared what we had with the Armenians, however, they decided that they could expropriate both these lands and these temples. Glory to God Almighty, the true owners of these places have returned. Azerbaijan, which is the owner of these lands since time immemorial, is rightfully the heir of these monuments, we are the religious heirs,” Mobili said.
