Another 46 families set off for Azerbaijan’s Shukurbeyli in “Great Return” drive PHOTO
As part of the ongoing “Great Return” program to Azerbaijan’s liberated territories, carried out in line with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, 46 families comprising 223 people have departed for the village of Shukurbeyli in the Jabrayil District.
Residents returning to their hometown expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the state’s comprehensive support. They also thanked the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, soldiers and officers who took part in the liberation of the territories, and honoured the memory of those who lost their lives during the conflict.

“We are happy that the day has finally come when we are returning to our native land. It is a tremendous joy for us,” former internally displaced person Khayala Aliyeva said.
She added that it was difficult to put her emotions into words.
“I am both very excited and very happy. Thanks be to the Almighty. May God protect President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. May the souls of all our fallen heroes rest in peace, and may our veterans be granted good health.
We dream of living in Jabrayil, building our lives there and spending happy days on our native land. We are immensely happy to be returning home,” she noted.
