Great Return continues as more IDPs move back to Azerbaijan’s Shukurbeyli PHOTO
Another group of former internally displaced persons has departed for the village of Shukurbeyli in Azerbaijan’s Jabrayil district as part of the Great Return program being implemented in line with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev.
A total of nine families, comprising 52 people, are returning to the village at this stage, Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Affairs of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons told Caliber.Az. The returnees had previously lived in dormitories, sanatoriums, and administrative buildings after being displaced from their homes.
The residents returning to their native village expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva for the comprehensive support provided by the state.
They also thanked the Azerbaijani Armed Forces for liberating the territories from occupation, enabling displaced families to return to their homes.
