Armenia among countries assisting Russia in bypassing weapons-sanctions An investigation by The Insider
Despite years of sanctions, Russian snipers continue to receive thousands of Western rifles and rounds of ammunition annually through third-country shipments which includes Armenia.
While direct shipments from weapon manufacturers to Russia were halted, Western companies have significantly increased arms exports to Armenia and several other countries. An investigative article by The Insider has established that weapons from there eventually make their way to Russia, Caliber.Az reports.
The article notes on the baffling growth in arms supplies to Russia's neighboring countries from the European Union and the US, pointing to exports of rifles and shotguns from Italy to Armenia which have risen from 68 units in 2019 to an astonishing 1,862 in 2023, making a 2,638% increase in only 4 years.
