Armenia, Netherlands sign strategic partnership declaration
Armenia and the Netherlands have signed a declaration establishing a strategic partnership, the Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan announced in Yerevan following talks with his Dutch counterpart, Caspar Veldkamp.
Mirzoyan described the agreement as a "new milestone" in bilateral relations, calling it both symbolic and binding, Caliber.Az reports via Armenian media.
The declaration, he stated, not only covers political and economic dialogue but also outlines collaborative efforts to strengthen peace and security in the South Caucasus. It also highlights the promotion of regional and international transport connectivity.
Additionally, the declaration includes joint measures to enhance cybersecurity and address hybrid threats.
As a reminder, on March 6, Armenia's Defence Minister Suren Papikyan met with Marieke Harriet Monroy-Winter and Defence Attaché Colonel Eric van Vuren to discuss potential defence cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands.
The talks, reported by Armenian media, followed agreements made during a meeting with Dutch Defence Minister Ruben Brinkman in Munich on February 15.
The discussions covered military education, joint exercises, experience exchange, and regional and international security matters.
