Armenia no longer has army or dignity, says analyst
“When they rejected Serzh, we thought that this was only about Serzh Sargsyan, but it turned out that this was not the case.”
The Armenian political scientist Stepan Danielyan made these remarks in a post on Facebook, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Armenian media.
“When they rejected the generals, we thought that they rejected lawlessness in the army, but later we realised that they rejected the institution of the army. When they rejected the clergy, we thought they were rejecting the immoral lifestyle of some of the priests, but later we realized that they were rejecting the church and Christian commandments in general,” he wrote.
“When they rejected corruption and plunder, we thought they wanted to build a just country, but then we realized that they only reject plunder in which they themselves cannot take part. When they surrounded the courts, we thought that they wanted to have a fair trial, but then we realized that they were against the courts as an independent body that administers justice. When we began to understand all this, it turned out that we no longer have an army, no dignity, no self-preservation instinct, and nothing binds us to each other,” Danielyan said.
