Armenia, Türkiye launch key discussions on diplomatic normalization

11 April 2025 15:39

Special representatives of Armenia and Türkiye, Ruben Rubinyan and Serdar Kılıç, held a productive meeting focused on the normalization of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The discussions took place on the sidelines of a diplomacy forum in Antalya, Caliber.Az reports citing Armenian media.

“We had a good discussion on the process of normalization of Armenia-Türkiye relations,” Rubinyan shared a post on the social media platform X, emphasizing the positive tone of the talks.

The meeting marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to restore ties between Armenia and Türkiye, which have been historically strained due to a number of geopolitical and historical issues. Both nations have shown an interest in improving their relationship, with a focus on diplomatic engagement and mutual respect for each other's interests.

In related developments, a trilateral panel discussion on South Caucasus issues is scheduled to take place in Türkiye on April 12, with the participation of the foreign ministers from Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia — Jeyhun Bayramov, Ararat Mirzoyan, and Maka Botchorishvili. This panel will further address key regional concerns and aims to foster dialogue among the three countries.

The 4th edition of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF 2025), organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye under the patronage of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will be held from 11-13 April 2025 in Antalya, Türkiye. The theme for this year's forum is "Reclaiming Diplomacy in a Fragmented World."
