Armenian court moves to confiscate assets of former police official

23 February 2026 11:31

Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Court has accepted a new lawsuit filed by the Prosecutor General’s Office seeking the confiscation of property alleged to have been obtained illegally.

The case targets Migran Vachikovich Davtyan, who held multiple positions within the Ministry of State Revenue and the Armenian Police between 2000 and 2019, as well as individuals associated with him, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media

The Prosecutor General’s Office is demanding the seizure of 14 real estate properties, six vehicles, shares in two companies, bank deposits totaling 792,000 drams (approximately $2,100) and $24,000 in U.S. currency, as well as the right to claim an unpaid loan of 5 million drams (around $13,300). Additional amounts sought include 270,151,000 drams (about $720,000) and 796,825,000 drams (approximately $2.13 million).

Armenian media reports note that in 2019, one day before his dismissal, former Armenian Police Chief Valery Osipyan appointed Davtyan as the police representative in Russia. However, Davtyan never assumed the post, as he was removed from his position two days later.
