Armenian media: Margarita Simonyan pocketed millions of dollars
Margarita Simonyan, editor-in-chief of the Russia Today TV channel, head of Russia Today international news agency, and member of the board of directors of Russia's Channel One, has pocketed millions of dollars.
According to Caliber.Az, this was reported by Armenian media.
"According to the approved federal budget for 2022-2024, the state TV channel Russia Today (RT) is to receive 82 billion roubles ($30 million). RT was allocated 28.7 billion roubles in 2022, 1.4 billion more than in 2021.
Against the backdrop of the war in Ukraine, the Kremlin is seriously concerned about the failed information war and propaganda. Amid more candid questions about the reasons for the failure of information policy, the main "defendants" are caught up in scandalous cases. And this, as people familiar with the Kremlin's rules know, is a sign of imminent compensation for the embezzlement of huge budgetary funds in the information sphere. In their opinion, the latest indignation of Margarita Simonyan, who lamented that "she must leave soon," was taken by her informed friends as a bad signal from the Kremlin," the Armenian media reported.
