Armenian mine planted in Azerbaijan's Lachin injures civilian
A mine blast occurred today in the village of Kalafalig in Lachin District of Azerbaijan on the border with Armenia.
A joint statement from the Prosecutor-General's Office, the Interior Ministry, and the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) states, according to Caliber.Az.
Ali Suleymanov, a resident of Vagazin village, born in 1960, was grazing cattle on the Saribaba hill in Kalafalig village when he stepped on an anti-personnel mine in an area that had not yet been cleared of explosives. The incident resulted in a serious injury to his left leg.
The Lachin District Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the incident. ANAMA, the Interior Ministry, and the Prosecutor-General's Office are once again urging citizens to follow safety precautions and avoid visiting unfamiliar areas.
