Armenian PM compares peace process with Azerbaijan to historic space travel achievements
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the challenges and aspirations of the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan during his speech at the annual meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in Yerevan.
Pashinyan's remarks shed light on the complexities faced in achieving a peaceful settlement between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports citing Sputnik Armenia.
Highlighting the lack of experience in navigating such negotiations and the historical backdrop of conflict, Pashinyan acknowledged the prevalent skepticism surrounding the feasibility of a peaceful resolution. However, he drew parallels to humanity's achievements in space exploration, noting that what once seemed improbable, like space travel, became a reality through determination and learning.
"Nevertheless, centuries of experience have shown that flying into space is also improbable. But people achieved it because they were willing to learn new things. And now space flights are no longer a surprise to anyone," remarked Pashinyan, emphasizing the transformative power of perseverance and innovation.
Pashinyan outlined Armenia's strategy, which focuses on fostering economic integration with regional neighbors. He emphasized the importance of establishing trans-regional communications, spanning across different countries' territories, as a means of enhancing connectivity and fostering mutual benefits for both regional and non-regional stakeholders.
