Armenian PM says peace deal with Azerbaijan already boosting economy
On June 16, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan has ended, arguing that the emergence of peace is already strengthening the country’s economy and improving prospects for growth.
Speaking in the National Assembly during debate on the 2025 state budget execution report, Pashinyan said the normalisation of relations with Azerbaijan was beginning to deliver tangible economic benefits, Caliber.Az reports, citing Armenian media.
“The establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan has already given a new impetus to economic development,” he said.
He added that the government’s focus should now be on translating macroeconomic gains into living standards for citizens.
“People must see economic growth in their everyday lives. For this reason, I have decided to increase pensions in Armenia,” he said.
