Turkish defence company ASELSAN will present the EREN-II forest surveillance radar system developed under the coordination of the Turkish Defence Industry Authority at the IDEF 2023 exhibition to be held in Istanbul on July 25-28.
The system, which was created by ASELSAN at the national level, was designed to detect targets in areas where there is no line of sight due to vegetation, Caliber.Az reports, citing ASELSAN’s Twitter page.

The system, which was developed by ASELSAN at the national level, was designed to detect targets in areas where there is no line of sight due to vegetation.
The first-generation EREN-I system, which has been adopted by the Turkish Armed Forces in recent years, has become an important element for security forces when operating in forested areas. Deliveries of the new generation EREN-II radar, developed by adding additional capabilities, will begin this year.
The EREN-II radar can continuously broadcast 360 degrees in the horizontal axis and perform instant target detection. EREN-II, as a system with user-friendly software with a graphical interface and remote operation, can be installed in a very short time and operated by a single operator. The radar operates in a frequency band that can penetrate obstacles such as trees, branches, and leaves.
Developed using ASELSAN's own resources, the EREN-II system offers more advanced technological capabilities than similar systems.
