ASTRA: Russia’s Cheboksary comes under attack as 37 sustain injuries PHOTO / VIDEO
A total of 37 people were injured as a result of a Ukrainian attack on the Russian city of Cheboksary on May 5, according to the Health Ministry of Chuvashia, as reported by ASTRA.
Eleven victims remain in medical institutions, three of whom are in serious condition, while the rest are receiving outpatient care.
The Russian Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case on “terrorism,” stating that Ukraine used cruise missiles and at least eight drones in the attack. Two people were killed as a result.Earlier, Ukrainian strikes targeted the defence enterprise “VNIIR-Progress,” where three people were injured, as well as the MTV shopping and entertainment centre. Later on May 5, a drone hit a residential building on Stroiteley Street, killing two people and injuring 32 others.
A regional emergency situation has been declared in the republic.
