At least 22 injured as bus veers off road in Iran’s Fars province
A serious road accident in southern Iran left at least 22 people injured after a passenger bus veered off the road near the city of Sadra, close to Shiraz, in Fars province.
According to the head of the provincial rescue service, the incident occurred on the approach to Sadra, a suburban area northwest of Shiraz, Caliber.Az reports, citing Iranian media.
Preliminary information suggests the vehicle lost control and skidded off the roadway, though the exact cause has yet to be officially determined.
Emergency response teams were swiftly dispatched to the scene. All injured passengers were transported to medical facilities in Shiraz, where they are currently receiving treatment. The severity of their injuries has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
